What is Curation?

Antarctic meteorite curation work can be divided into three categories: "Initial Processing", "Allocation", and "Sample Storage". Curation work is positioned between meteorite exploration and research. These three are often performed by separate institutions, but the National Institute of Polar Research is one of the few institutions that performs both meteorite collection and curation, as well as research.
