Final Announcement



+WHEN AND WHERE

Location:

During the periods of 17 to 18 November, 2011, oral and poster presentations at the symposium will be held on the 2nd floor of the National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics (NINJAL), which is located next to the NIPR building, Tachikawa City, Tokyo, Japan (floor map).

Transportation:

NIPR has moved to Tachikawa City, which is about 40 km west of the center of Tokyo. From the Narita Internatinal Airport, NIPR can be reached conveniently by public transportation system such as train (Narita Express and Chuo Line) or airport limousine. It will take about 2.5~3 hrs. +SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 17, and will be followed by oral sessions in the 2nd floor atrium of the NINJAL main building from 10:00 a.m. after the opening address from 9:55 a.m. Oral sessions will be held from Thursday morning through Friday afternoon.


Oral Presentation:

All oral presentations will be structured for 15 minutes total time including 5 minutes for discussion and speaker transition. Microsoft Windows and Macintosh computers hooked to an LCD projector are available for your presentations.

Special Requirements for Electronic presentations:

Participants who want to use electronic presentations must turn in their presentation on a USB flash drive prior to the start of the session in which it will be presented. PowerPoint 2007 (from Windows Office 2007), PowerPoint 2008 (from Macintosh Office 2008) and Keynote '09 (only for Macintosh) are available on conference computers. Please be sure that all graphics are embedded in the presentation file. Fonts should be standard fonts such as Times New Roman, Arial, or Courier. If nonstandard fonts must be used, they should be embedded in the presentation files. All presentation files will be removed from the computers after each session finishes.

NIPR Journal:

Participants who present at the symposium are encouraged to submit manuscripts reporting their results to an Elsevier journal, Polar Science.



+WELCOME PARTY

A welcome party will be held at the Lounge "Southern Cross" next to the NIPR main building on Thursday evening. It will cost 1000-2000 yen each.(Graduate sutudent:1000 yen, Others excepting graduate students: 2000 yen)



+LUNCH

A limited number of lunch boxes are available in the NIPR building each day of the symposium. Please note that there are very few restaurants within walking distance of NIPR in Tachikawa.
